Pikwize is an independent guide to reviews and reputation for trades and home service businesses. We test the tools, read the fine print and tell you what works.

What we cover

Google reviews and online reputation for plumbers, electricians, roofers, locksmiths, cleaners and every other trade that works in people’s homes. We write for two markets, contractors in the United States and artisans in France. Each guide is written for its own market, with its own rules, prices and examples. The French guides are not translations of the English ones.

How we check facts

• Every number links to the page it comes from, usually Google’s own help pages, a regulator or the survey itself.
• Facts about a company come from that company’s own public pages. We note the date we read them, because prices and plans change. If we could not find something on their site, we say so instead of guessing.
• When we update a guide, the new date appears under the headline and in the source list.

How we make money

Pikwize carries no ads, no affiliate links and no paid placements. It is published by WH Médias, which also makes review software: Artisavis in France and Own Your Ratings in the US. Our comparisons list those products alongside others, checked the same way, and say so where they appear.

When a guide mentions Artisavis or Own Your Ratings, it names at least two other options next to it, describes them from their own pages and tells you who each one suits. If you think we got that balance wrong, tell us.
